After 14 years and over $4M raised through Swingshift and the Stars, we have decided to make this, our 15th year, the final season.
SwingShift and the Stars (SATS) founder – Judy Harrison and the entire SATS team have decided that 15 years “just sounds right.” When SATS started back in 2008, no one dreamed of the profound impact that this “little event” would have on our community. But after 14 amazing (soon to be 15), fun-filled years, over $4.1M raised, and 122 local nonprofit partnerships, literally tens of thousands of Michiganders have been impacted by Swingshift and the Stars.
Even as SATS calls it “a wrap” in 2022, our nonprofit, Community Impact Partners’ (CIP), looks forward to seeing how we can continue to be a force for good in the community. The Harrisons have purchased and renovated a commercial building in Traverse City and are excited about the entrepreneurial and philanthropic opportunities that the new Flat Cap Building on US 31 South will present.
Our 15th and final season will remain focused on highlighting the amazing nonprofits that have been chosen to participate. (They and their performing stars will be revealed to the public on Aug 25th). While it is hard to say goodbye, we’re planning to “go big” this year with our usual excitement and confidence, knowing it’s been an amazing run.
We thank you all for your incredible participation and support!!!!
Since 2008, SwingShift and the Stars has been helping Michigan nonprofit organizations build funds and raise awareness. Having hosted 14 seasons (soon to be 15) across the Traverse Bay and Great Lakes Bay regions, SwingShift and the Stars has provided 122 opportunities for Michigan nonprofits to grow. Over $4,156,000 has been raised thus far, by our participating nonprofit organizations and we look forward to the final totals with the addition of season 15 coming this December!
